An American Haunting lacks punch
Based on events depicting the only documented case in the United States where a spirit killed a person (I kid you not) An American Haunting (Lions Gate, €21.99) unfortunately loses its way thanks to a poor plot and less than inspired special effects.
Sissy Spacek and Donald Sutherland should have given this a miss. The real events took place in Tennessee back in the 18th century, but this retelling lacks any real punch.
Among the extras are four alternative endings and eight extended deleted scenes.
