16 Blocks fails to maintain interest
A washed-up cop has a pretty straightforward assignment: escort a prisoner to court. The cop is Jack Mosley (Bruce Willis), the prisoner, Eddie Bunker (an over-the-top Mos Def), a witness in a cop corruption case.
16 Blocks (Lions Gate, €22.99) is the distance Mosley has to take his client, but his path is filled with rogue cops determined to get their man.
Veteran director Richard Donner tries hard to invest some suspense in the action, but there simply isn’t enough to maintain interest. Extras include an alternative ending (better than the original) and deleted scenes with commentary by director Richard Donner and writer Richard Wenk.
