McCartney to make donation after gala cancellation

Paul McCartney is to make a substantial donation to the Adopt-a-Minefield charity after his split from wife Heather caused him to pull out of a benefit gala.

The former Beatle will give a reported £1.6m (€2.4m) to the organisation.
