Timberlake reveals British roots

Singer Justin Timberlake has revealed that he has British heritage.

The star says research on his family tree has revealed his roots reside in the UK.

Timberlake, 25, tells GMTV: "I've had my genealogy studied and I want to say that I am of British descent."

He continued: "There was a British lad who was in a war, not sure which war, but he ran away from the war because he fell in love with an Indian girl, and that's where my family tree started."

He tells Kate Garraway: "I grew up in a small town. If I showed you where I lived you'd really think I'd come a long way."

The singer, who is dating Hollywood beauty Cameron Diaz, said: "I had really awkward hair and terrible skin and I was really scrawny, I looked like a 'broccolini', not even a broccoli.

"I looked like a broccolini because I was long and skinny and (my hair) blossomed out on the top - I was a really weird-looking kid."
