Catherine Cookson collection lasts three days

Those who fancy some light romance will have something to while away the summer evenings with The Complete Collection of Catherine Cookson (ITV DVD, €179.49).

While the cost may appear a little prohibitive, you can also buy one of the three digipacks at a more modest €59.49.

Each contains eight dramatisations of her novels in feature-length episodes. Be warned: the full collection runs to more than 70 hours. My mother has already grabbed my copy: endorsement enough!
