Pussycat Dolls promoters fined in Malaysia

Promoters of The Pussycat Dolls concert staged in Malaysia last month have been fined by local authorities after the girl band wore revealing outfits and performed suggestive dance routines at the Kuala Lumpur show.

Absolute Entertainment was fined 10,000 ringgit (€2,100) by the Malaysian capital's Subang Jaya Municipal Council after complaints were received following the Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach concert on July 26.

Council President Mohamad Arif Abdul Rahman said: "The Pussycat Dolls were guilty of performing sexually suggestive routines on stage.

"In terms of their eye-popping attire, well, there's a lot of proof of that from our sources and the media."

A spokesperson for Absolute Entertainment refused to confirm that the company would pay the fine, but said executives met with council officials today.
