Bonham Carter proud of 'worst dressed' status
Helena Bonham Carter says she is proud when her flamboyant sense of style wins her a place on a “worst dressed” list.
The British actress, who is set to play witch Bellatrix Lestrange in the next Harry Potter movie, said criticism of her unusual red carpet creations made her laugh.
“I’ve never been interested in what other people think,” Bonham Carter told the New York Daily News.
“I have been vilified for my dress sense, and I find it hilarious.”
The 40-year-old, who first came to prominence in 1985’s A Room With a View, said she and her partner, the director Tim Burton, are considering having a second child but had no plans to marry.
“I’m his woman, and we have a little bastard as a son – I find it quite romantic,” she told the newspaper.
The couple and three-year-old Billy Ray live in London in two houses “which are interlinked by a kind of tunnel”.
Bonham Carter’s latest film is the forthcoming Conversations With Other Women.
She plays a married woman who travels to New York from Britain to be a bridesmaid at a friend’s wedding and spends the night with a man from her past.
