Pixar, that most ambitious of computer animation houses, bring us a satisfying tale about cars and morality.
The story involves a little racing car (Wilson) that finds himself stuck in a backwater town while on his way to a major race. There he has to undertake some community work after almost wrecking the town. That’s where the morality comes in: reflecting on his foolish ways.
If you remember the Michael J. Fox film Doc Hollywood you’ll get the picture, and a charming and surprisingly adult picture it is.
The animation is superb but the really funny moments are pretty thin.
Still, it’s a crowd-pleaser.
