Stay Alive

Director: William Brent Bell

Cast: Jon Foster, Adam Goldberg, Frankie Muniz, Samaire Armstrong

Cert: 15

Some films simply can’t decide what they want to be: a clever spoof, dead straight, downright comic.

This one never makes up its mind as it takes us into the horrors of a video game that goes horribly wrong by killing off those who play it. Possibly even those who watch it!

The plot – one sniggers at the very thought – revolves around a group of nerds who set out to discover what’s going on. One hopes they do since the audience will clearly need help.

It’s a bad, bad film devoid of genuine scares – lots of unintentional laughter – and really not worth paying to watch. Stay home and play Ludo instead.
