Prince's second wife seeks divorce

Pop star Prince's second wife, Manuela Testolini Nelson, has filed for divorce in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The Purple Rain star has never confirmed he was actually married to Testolini and publicly denounced the legalities of marriage after divorcing his first wife, Mayte.

According to The Minneapolis Star Tribune, Nelson filed for divorce on May 24 in Hennepin County District Court.

The petition filed by Nelson was the first hard evidence that the couple had actually been legally married.

According to court documents, the couple married on December 31, 2001.

The divorce filing is expected to be sealed by the judge to protect the couple's privacy.
