TV's Ant ties the knot

Anthony McPartlin, of TV’s Geordie duo Ant and Dec, married his long-term girlfriend Lisa Armstrong today at a rain-lashed country church.

The heavens opened an hour before the service and rain continued steadily as the couple and their friends and family arrived for the 2.30pm ceremony.

Far better known for his on-screen ’marriage’ to co-presenter and best pal Declan Donnelly, there were no prizes for guessing who Ant picked to be his best man.

Ant, 30, and his 29-year-old bride, one-time singer in 1990s pop group Deuce, tied the knot at St Nicholas’ Church in Taplow, Buckinghamshire.

Among those attending the service were TV presenter Phillip Schofield and former weather girl Sally Meen.

They were watched by around 150 well-wishers, huddled under trees and umbrellas to escape the downpour.

The couple’s reception was held nearby at Cliveden House, a lavish country hotel.
