The Break-up script lets Aniston and Vaughan shine

Aniston has been waiting for a long time for a script as good as this, and she runs with it to outstanding effect.

She’s never been better.

The story is conventional enough (it’s about the break-up of a romance conducted by two people who don’t know how exactly how it’s done) but the script gives Vaughn, who came up with the original short story, and Aniston plenty to work with.

The film has a wonderful feeling of reality, in places almost like a fly-on-the-wall documentary, as it examines the desperate world of twisted relationships and the rocky road of romance.

It’s a gem of a movie.
