Little Fish cast brings depth to troubled family

Another fine performance from the terrific Blanchett and a strong script that breathes depth into the characters gives this story of family dysfunction a decided edge.

This is a truly troubled family. Tracy (Blanchett) is a drug addict, brother Ray (Henderson) is a wannabe criminal, ex-boyfriend Jonny (Nguyen) is a dealer and family friend Brad (Neill) supplies Lionel (Weaving) with regular fixes.

This is all cleverly woven into a film that is both powerfully dramatic and tellingly human.

The cast is universally brilliant.
