Derry’s Maiden Festival cancelled due to red tape

The largest festival on the Protestant side of the community in the North has been called off this year.

The Maiden Festival in Derry is a celebration of the Protestant Apprentice Boys, who shut the city gates against the forces of Catholic King James in December 1688.
