Mickey Rourke avoids reading other people's parts when learning his lines from movie scripts, because he is "really lazy".

The 49-year-old actor, soon to be seen alongside Ewan McGregor in Stormbreaker, believes his method keeps his performances spontaneous.

He says: "What's the point of reading everyone else's? If I'm talking to you now, I have no idea what you're going to say, so why anticipate it in a script? It's what helps keep my performances more organic, I think.

"Plus I'm really lazy, Stormbreaker was just a fun thing for me to do, and playing the baddie Darrius (Sayle) wasn't exactly something I needed to do research on."
