Lavigne thinks pink for wedding

Avril Lavigne had a decidedly girly wedding on Saturday, when she married Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley at a pink Spanish villa, complete with petal pink chiffon dresses for her four bridesmaids.

The couple tied the knot at Villa Lilybelle, a private estate in Montecito, California, just down the road from talk show guru Oprah Winfrey's luxurious estate.

The Catholic ceremony began at 5pm, lasted only 20 minutes and was witnessed by 100 close friends and family members. No celebrities were invited.

A witness tells American publication Us Weekly: "Avril looked beautiful. Her hair was very bright blonde. Her dress was simple, but elegant."

The 21-year-old wore a custom-made Vera Wang ivory strapless tissue organza gown with wrapped bodice and appliqué lace beaded skirt.

Lavigne's bridesmaids wore Vera Wang draped petal pink crepe chiffon gowns, while Whibley and his groomsmen wore tuxes from the Hugo collection by Hugo Boss.

After the couple exchanged vows, the bride changed into a Vera Wang ivory strapless Chantilly lace gown.

The wedding, coordinated by celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss, was outfitted with hundreds of white roses.

The expansive pink Spanish villa even featured a large pond, complete with white swans.
