Denzel wants Jackson for new film

Denzel Washington is desperate to team up with King Kong director Peter Jackson on an ambitious upcoming film project.

The two Oscar-winning heavyweights are set to team up for a secret new project after Washington jetted to Jackson's native New Zealand to convince The Lord of the Rings mastermind to work with him.

The actor spent four days in Wellington, New Zealand, visiting Jackson and chatting to him about a new project he (Washington) will direct.

According to insiders, Washington wants Jackson to provide the special effects for the film.

Jackson's Weta Workshop and Weta Digital provide special effects services for major movies.
