British TV presenter Paul O'Grady is in a serious condition in hospital today after suffering a heart attack, his second in four years.

O'Grady - who found fame as drag queen comedienne Lily Savage - was taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, Kenton on Friday, complaining of severe chest pains. He was then rushed straight into intensive care.

After a minor operation to assist blood flow he is now in a specialist cardiac unit - but is expected to make a full recovery.

A source says: "He's out of intensive care but the situation is serious.

"He started feeling unwell in the morning."

The 51-year-old was lucky to survive a massive cardiac arrest in 2002.

He gave up smoking, but had started again after the death of his gay former partner last year.
