Irish charity says Live-8 campaign flawed from start
One year after the Live-8 concerts and the Gleneagles summit, the Make Poverty History Campaign is coming under fire from an Irish charity.
Goal has claimed that the campaign led by Bob Geldoff to drop third world debt and increase aid to the poorest countries was flawed from the beginning.
Earlier this week Geldoff said he was disappointed with the contribution of some governments.
John O'Shea of Goal said he was not surprised, as the money isn't getting to the people.
“I’m not as disappointed as Bob is and while (I admire) what he has done in terms of awareness, I just fell they are going about it in the wrong way,” he said.
