Pavarotti cancels British dates
Ailing opera legend Luciano Pavarotti has been forced to postpone the British leg of his world tour next month after health troubles.
The Nessun Dorma tenor, 70, first cancelled his Brazil gig in March to fly to New York to seek medical help for his back problems and then pulled further dates in Chile, Portugal, Bosnia, Canada and the US from April onwards to undergo an operation.
Pavarotti has cancelled scheduled gigs in Glasgow, Scotland; and Derbyshire, Southampton and Warwick, England, which were set to take place from July 5 to 15.
His manager Terri Robson says the star was "deeply disappointed" to pull the concerts.
Robson says: "He went on to develop an infection during his stay in hospital; this condition has unfortunately delayed his recovery time.
"He is currently undergoing a course of intensive physiotherapy in New York."
