Beckinsdale appalled by US World Cup coverage

Underworld star Kate Beckinsdale is appalled by the lack of coverage the FIFA World Cup gets in the US, and is especially insulted by the bias of the American sports commentators.

The actress was working in New York City and decided to catch an international soccer match on TV at a local pub.

She explains: "The World Cup is very exciting. It's all we've got (in England). I mean that's it - it really is.

"We went here and watched it in a pub and I was expecting a huge crowd and there were like five people.

"Me, my daughter, my husband. Anne Hathaway was there for some reason, I have no idea why.

"In fact, you hear the American commentary, which is a big shocker for us, and they're obviously rooting for which ever other team it is (playing England).

"It's terrible! (They're like) 'It was an OK goal for England, but not that great!' It's upsetting!"
