The Lake House is a disappointing and poor film

A disappointing sort of somewhere in time; an overly-complicated story of a romance conducted by two people who happen to be living several years apart.

The Lake House

Director: Alejandro Agresti

Cast: Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock, Christopher Plummer, Dylan Walsh

Cert: PG

A disappointing sort of somewhere in time; an overly-complicated story of a romance conducted by two people (Bullock and Reeves, who is living in a lakeside house) who happen to be living several years apart.

The romance is conducted by letter and when the warped timeline is discovered they set out to find the reason.

It is a film crying out for treatment as a spooky, hair-on-the-back-of-the-neck approach but it never really develops into anything remotely exciting or chilling.

The cast, a strong one, is left to struggle through a poor film.

Star Rating: 1/5
