Casanova fails to ignite much passion

Venice is the location for Casanova (BVHE, €21.99), a dull undertaking by Lasse Hallstrom which can be better appreciated in the BBC’s recent adaptation.

Heath Ledger takes the title role and simply looks out of place as the legendary womaniser given three days to settle down and marry or face arrest.

Sienna Miller provides the romantic interest, but it’s all rather tiresome.

A couple of minor featurettes, a single extended scene and a lifeless Hallstrom commentary sum this up. Skip it.
