Queen Latifah considering political career
Rapper and actress Queen Latifah is considering turning to politics and running for the US senate.
The rapper, real name Dana Owens, was making an appearance on Capitol Hill in Washington DC to endorse a National Women's Confidence Day on Wednesday when she revealed her political aspirations.
"You know, maybe I'll run for senate," she said.
The 36-year-old then told a congressional press conference that her own self-confidence came from her supportive family.
"I have always felt strongly about empowering women," she said. "I'm living proof that, with confidence and by believing in yourself, you can accomplish any goal."
