Flatley reveals new love
Dance superstar Micheal Flatley is stepping out with a new love after a 12-year friendship blossomed into romance.
The 47-year-old Fermoy-based multi-millionaire, has fallen for the charms of 32-year-old Meath woman Niamh O’Brien.
Niamh has been a close friend of Flatley’s since 1994, when she danced alongside him in the Riverdance troupe at the Eurovision. The happy couple went public with their relationship at last night’s Lord of the Dance 10th anniversary bash in Dublin.
Since 1994 O’Brien has worked alongside Flatley on his Feet of Flames and Lord of the Dance shows. She is currently working with him on the hugely successful Celtic Tiger extravaganza.
Speculation about Flatley’s love life has been rife in recent weeks, following the break up of his long-term relationship with fiancée Lisa Murphy. Talk of a relationship with Niamh O’Brien first began last month, after the couple were spotted together at David and Victoria Beckham’s World Cup party.
A spokeswoman for Flatley remained tightlipped about the relationship. However, she did hint that Flatley may be about to make a spectacular return to Cork soon.
This was after he publicly stated he would love to bring his Celtic Tiger show to the city he calls “his adopted home”.
“I would not dismiss out of hand any chance of the show coming to Cork,” said the spokeswoman.
“In the meantime he and the cast will be heading out of Ireland tomorrow for the Asian leg of the Celtic Tiger world tour.”
