Radiohead star Thom Yorke has no intention of leaving the acclaimed band, but has completed a solo album after deciding to test himself by working alone.

The Creep frontman has always enjoyed the backing of guitarists Jonny Greenwood and Ed O'Brien, bassist Colin Greenwood and drummer Phil Selway, so he decided to go it alone on upcoming LP The Eraser.

He says: "I wanted to work on my own. I just wanted to see what it would be like."

But he has told fans the record is definitely not a precursor to a split: "As you know the band are now touring and writing new stuff and getting to a good space so I want no crap about me being a traitor or splitting up."
