Jovovich's career hampered by name

Milla Jovovich insists her acting career has been hampered by her exotic name, because directors keep casting her in alien or superhero roles.

The Resident Evil star was born in Kiev in the former USSR and has fought to be cast in 'normal' roles.

She says: "My name has screwed me up more than my looks. It makes Americans go: 'Oh, she's foreign, so she has to be an alien or a superhero.'

"I'm sure if my name was something anonymous like Melissa Gillheart it would be fine."
