Stefani and Rossdale welcome baby Kingston

Gwen Stefani is a mother after giving birth to her baby in Los Angeles on Friday.

The No Doubt star and rocker husband Gavin Rossdale welcomed baby son Kingston James McGregor Rossdale into the world at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center by Caesarean section.

A spokesman for the couple says: "Mother and baby are doing fine," while on her official website, the proud mum announces Kingston weighed in at 7.5 pounds.

It's the first child for the 36-year-old singer. The former Bush frontman has a teenage daughter, Daisy Lowe, from a brief romance with British fashion designer Pearl Lowe.

Rossdale wasn't convinced he was Daisy's father until he took a DNA test in 2004.

He and Stefani were married in ceremonies in London and Los Angeles in 2002. They fell in love after a backstage meeting at a concert in 1995.
