Gillespie disappointed with Doherty

Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie has criticised troubled rocker Pete Doherty for being too focused on fame instead of making music.

While the Rocks singer admires the Babyshambles frontman for his musical talent, but is disappointed by Doherty's desperation for press attention.

Gillespie says: "He's obviously into his romantic poets and he likes to get intoxicated heavily, but he is a great songwriter and he is a great musician.

"He loves the press, the notoriety and the fame. I get that impression anyway.

"But what other rock 'n' roll star has what we've got? He's the only one apart from me, Liam Gallagher and Ian Brown. We're the only ones who have it."
