American Idol host Ryan Seacrest has blamed his busy schedule and excessive media attention for the swift end to his romance with Teri Hatcher.

The TV/radio presenter (aged 31) and Hatcher (aged 41) were photographed kissing on a Malibu, California, beach in March.
