Kaiser Chiefs frontman victim of hit and run

Kaiser Chiefs star Ricky Wilson has credited his stage acrobatics with saving his life after being hit by a car on Sunday.

The singer, who miraculously escaped the horrifying incident with only a broken toe and bruising, jumped to avoid the car as it powered into him on a pedestrian crossing in Leeds, England.

A posting on the band's website reads: "He would like all of you to know he's OK. He's the luckiest man alive, because he is still alive.

"It sounds daft, but a 'Ricky trademark jump' has probably saved his life. The jump meant he was flipped over the top of the car, hitting the windscreen, rather than getting trapped under it.

"He was crossing on a green pedestrian light. Whether it was a joyrider, reckless driving or drunk driving we still don't know. Police are investigating."

The statement also confirms the OH MY GOD hitmaker will be fit enough to perform gigs in Holland and Germany next month.
