Director Sofia Coppola’s hotly-awaited new movie Marie Antoinette was booed at its debut screening in Cannes today – but the French stopped short of calling for the director’s head.

The film stars Kirsten Dunst, 24, as the queen who was guillotined by revolutionaries in 1793, and is Coppola’s first as director since the acclaimed Lost in Translation.
