Richie and Goldstein officially split

Nicole Richie and Adam 'DJ AM' Goldstein have officially split, for the second time in six months.

The pair, who called off their engagement last December, had reunited in recent months and on Saturday the socialite's singer father Lionel Richie claimed marriage was imminent.

He said: "Of course I am going to be (at the wedding) for her, and I'll be singing - there's no way I couldn't. I'm really happy that it's working out for her."

But the couple have issued a joint statement, released by Richie's publicist Cindy Guagenti, that reads: "We are confirming that we have amicably separated."
