Another Dan Brown book 'set for film treatment'
Da Vinci Code author Dan Brown’s first religious thriller Angels and Demons is set to get the movie treatment.
Actor Tom Hanks and director Ron Howard have not yet signed up to resume their roles.
But a writer has been asked by movie studio Sony to adapt the book, Variety on-line reported.
The Da Vinci Code, also starring Audrey Tautou and Sir Ian McKellen, opened to terrible reviews.
But it proved a record-breaking success at the box office.
Figures released today showed the blockbuster took £9.5m in its first weekend sending it straight to the top of the UK box office charts.
Variety said the development of Angels and Demons was still in the very early stages but that it was likely that the production team that worked on the Da Vinci Code would be reassembled for the new film.
