Walk The Line a treat for all tastes

YOU don’t have to be a fan of Johnny Cash to appreciate the brilliance of Walk The Line (Fox, €24.99), because this is a love story every bit as much as it is a biopic of the Man in Black.

James Mangold’s film is engrossing, uplifting and inspirational, but the casting of Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon is simply awesome.

Phoenix has Cash’s mannerisms down to a T, while Witherspoon is wonderful in the role of a relucant lover.

A fantastic selection of songs — credibly sung by both — fleshes out a terrific double disc title, but the extras here are five star, including audio commentary, 10 deleted scenes, several featurettes and a Johnny Cash Jukebox, with eight extended musical sequences.
