McKellen attacks Da Vinci Code 'snobs'

Ian McKellen today accused “powerful” people who condemned the film "The Da Vinci Code" of snobbery towards cinema-goers.

The star said he believed that the Catholic church would like the film’s central idea – that Jesus married Mary Magdalene – because it offered proof that Jesus was not gay.
