Baby girl for ex-Spice Geri

Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell has given birth to a baby girl, it was reported today.

The 33-year-old gave birth by Caesarean section last night in the private Portland Hospital in London, with her mother, Anna Maria, at her side, according to a report in The Sun newspaper.

The baby’s father, Hollywood scriptwriter Sacha Gervasi, 40, was not present after being "frozen out", the newspaper said.

Earlier this year, Geri, who considered adopting before becoming pregnant, revealed she wanted to call her baby Leonardo if it was a boy.

The former Ginger Spice told Hello! Magazine she was set on being a disciplinarian mother and if she had a girl, she would like to name her Stella.

She told the magazine: “I’m just hoping this child is more angel than devil’s child. To think that it might one day be going to the equivalent of the raves I went to, or driving away my car without permission the way I took my dad’s, is horrifying.”

A spokesman for the Portland Hospital today refused to confirm or deny whether Ms Halliwell was a patient there.
