Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price
Robert Greenwald
Wal-Mart, in case you’ve just landed from Mars, is one of the world’s largest chain stores … with a reputation that stinks!
It has a policy from the Stone Age when it comes to the treatment of employees, dealing with trade unions and local small businesses.
Greenwald’s searing documentary sets out to look at the retail giant and he does it magnificently, aided by those whose lives have been touched, and blighted, by the company.
It is a surprisingly well-balanced tale, given the director’s clear intention to let nothing deflect him from the truth. It’s a film you should see.
