Cruise spokesman denies special shoes

How’s this for a Mission: Impossible special effect? Either Tom Cruise has grown two inches, Katie Holmes has shrunk two inches, or those were special shoes Cruise was wearing the other night.

Holmes used to stand a couple of inches above her man, as photos of them during their European trip last year show, but when they stepped out for a premiere of M:i:III the other night they were exactly the same height.

New York podiatrist Rock Positano said: “There’s a lot of ways you can camouflage ’lifts’.”

But Cruise’s spokesman Paul Bloch, insisted that the shoes were “normal”.
