Confetti

Director: Debbie Isitt

Cast: Martin Freeman, Stephen Mangan, Jessica Stevenson, Jimmy Carr.

Cert: 15

The stars of several British soaps get a big-screen outing in what turns out to be quite a good comedy-drama.

Nobody these days seems to merely turn up at the church in a long white dress and a well-pressed suit. They turn up as Elvis lookalikes, Star Trek crew members, Roman centurians and tennis players.

Confetti magazine hits on the idea of awarding a new home to the most unusually themed wedding.

The couples chosen as finalists are a pretty odd lot, the various family members who tag along even more so.

It all makes for a funny and observant film in which everybody gives terrific performances for writer-director Isitt.

Star Rating: 4/5
