White Stripes rocker Jack White and wife Karen Elson have welcomed their first child, daughter Scarlett Teresa, into the world.
White's Michigan-based family told the Detroit Free Press yesterday that Elson gave birth in the couple's new home state of Tennessee on Tuesday.
Sources tell the newspaper the name Scarlett is a nod to lead character Scarlett O'Hara from Gone With The Wind, which also fits in well The White Stripes' trademark colour scheme.
The name Teresa was chosen in honour of White's mother.
White and former model Elson were married in Manaus, Brazil, last June with White's ex-wife and White Stripes partner Meg White serving as the maid of honour.
Elson stars in the White Stripes' music video for the song Blue Orchid.
White began dating Elson soon after splitting from actress Renee Zellweger in 2004.
