Hanks daunted by Da Vinci code

Tom Hanks was daunted by the task of bringing The Da Vinci Code to the big screen, because everyone is an expert on the best-selling novel.

The star, who plays Harvard University symbologist Robert Langdon, is keen to cause a strong reaction amongst fans - be it positive or divided

He explains: "We're hoping to cause a real rift in the audience - we either want universal acclaim or fist fights in the lobby after. Either one of those (reactions) is good for the film."
