An acclaimed actress has quit a New York play, claiming co-star Alec Baldwin threw temper tantrums and punched a hole in a dressing-room wall.

Jan Maxwell walked out of the off-Broadway production of Joe Orton’s Entertaining Mr Sloane after complaining about the Hollywood star’s alleged behaviour.
