In Pavee Lackeen (Verve, 24.99), director Perry Ogden examines the world of Irish Travellers as young Winnie (a terrific performance from Winnie Maughan) experiences the prejudices and travails of life in Celtic Tiger Ireland, where bureaucracy and racism are always just one step away.

A fine film by Ogden, which captures the other side of Ireland really well, the casting of real Travellers proves an inspired decision.
