Luciano Pavarotti has postponed eight concerts on his world farewell tour because of back pain.

The 70-year-old tenor has been advised not to travel or perform while he is being treated in New York for a ”painful condition in his lower back”, Pavarotti’s London-based spokeswoman, Terri Robson, said in a statement today.
