Billy Joel musical opens

Celebrities turned out tonight for the opening night of the London production of the hit Broadway Billy Joel musical, Movin’ Out.

Stephanie Beecham, Wayne Sleep and Ralf Little were among the stars at the Apollo Victoria Theatre to see the show, created by US director-choreographer Twyla Tharp with orchestration by the Piano Man himself.

The musical is set to the the singer-songwriter’s classics, including Uptown Girl, We Didn’t Start the Fire, She’s Got A Way and the title track Movin’ Out.

The two-act show, the story of a group of friends across the decades, recently ended its three-year Broadway run.
