Baby Moses for Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin have had a baby boy named Moses, a spokeswoman for the actress said today.

Emily Yomtobian told the Press Association the couple’s second child was born at the weekend.

“Mom and baby are both doing well,” she said.

“I’m sure they are ecstatic.”

The baby was born in New York city. The spokeswoman, from the office of Paltrow's publicist Stephen Huvane, was unable to give any details about the baby's weight or when he was born.

Oscar-winner Paltrow, 33, and Martin, 29, already have a 23-month-old daughter, Apple.

The Shakespeare in Love star confirmed she was pregnant for a second time in January, after months of speculation.

After a screening of her film Proof she was introduced on stage as “a pregnant woman” and asked by Lou Diamond Philips: “How far along are you?”

She answered: “Far enough along to feel very cumbersome.”
