Eva is sexiest earthling

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria can now be seen from outer space thanks to the editors of men's magazine Maxim.

The US publication's bosses have created a massive replica of their January 2005 cover, which featured a bikini shot of the actress, that is visible from space.

The vinyl mesh replica, which stretches to 23 by 34 metres, has been placed in the desert outside Las Vegas, Nevada as part of the magazine's 100th issue celebrations.

It took nine workers more than 15 hours to 'build' the cover, which is so big that satellites are able to photograph the image from outer space.

The stunt was made possible by the city of Las Vegas and Google Earth, which will display the image online.

Longoria says: "Leave it to Maxim to do something so creative and so wild to celebrate their 100th issue.

"I guess space is the final frontier. I am flattered to say the least, to be TV's sexiest earthling."
