Family rivalry between 'serious novelist' husband Daniels and suddenly successful writer wife Linney brings even more troubles to an already shaken marriage, especially the dysfunctional kids.

It's a comedy with a serious edge and it comes with some memorable moments.

The acting is often outstanding, but somehow the family in-fighting can't settle on fun or serious.
