Hi:Fi music festival to make debut in Ireland

Ireland is to have its first Hi:Fi Festival.

Promoters Global Gathering has announced that 'Hi:Fi Ireland - Its About the Music' will be staged over the August Bank Holiday weekend at Belvedere House, Mullingar.

The line up will include The Prodigy, The Streets, Paul Oakenfold, Ian Brown, Mylo, Carl Cox, Deep Dish, Razorlight, Roger Sanchez, Sasha & Digweed, DJ Tiesto, Audio Bullys, Cagedbaby, Shapeshifters, Tiga and Vitalic.

The organisers say the event is all about listening to quality music rather than being told what to listen to and the line reflects the diversity and tastes of the iPod generation.

The festival is a sister event to the Hi:Fi festival in England.

Tickets go on sale on Friday 21 April.
